Overview
Introducing our Billet DSSR for your E9x/E8x! Our DSSR's are now laser engraved on each end now to show which side goes to the shifter and which end goes to the transmission, which helps to eliminate all the guesswork during installation. We machine our DSSR to the exact tolerance specified by BMW to ensure a precision fit on your selector joint and shifter. Since our DSSR's are made from 7075 Aluminum they are incredibly strong and will last for many many years to come! For optimal shifter feel, we recommend pairing your DSSR with one of our "late model" Billet selector joints which can be found here.
This Billet DSSR is designed to be a direct replacement for E9x/E8x N54 RWD and some diesel models equipped with an OEM selector rod part number 25117524722.
WHAT IS A DSSR?
It stands for double shear selector rod. A DSSR will spread the torsional force on both sides of the selector rod instead of the OEM selector rod which connects from one side only. DSSR's are awesome as they help to reduce play in the shifter, (decreases side-to-side motion), which in turn creates a more precise and smooth shift. Now to the details.
Our DSSR's are made from 7075 Aluminum, and come with stainless steel threaded hardware to ensure that they never come loose over time! Please note: Compatible with OEM style shifters and our Garagistic short shifters (some OEM shifters may need to be slightly filed down to fit).
Please Note: This DSSR is designed to be used with an OEM or Garagistic Late Model BMW selector joint.
